The Black Crowes reunite & confirm ‘Shake Your Money Maker’ tour

From Planet Rock.

The Black Crowes have officially reunited for a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut studio album ‘Shake Your Money Maker’.

The band, who split four years ago following a bitter falling out between brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, began teasing their return last month when they uploaded their cartoon logo of two intoxicated-looking crows to Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Days later, the same logo appeared on billboards in Milwaukee and New Jersey fuelling speculation that their return to the fray was imminent.

Continuing their clandestine PR campaign, over the weekend a poster appeared in New York over the weekend advertising shows at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey on 17th July and at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York the following day.

The poster confirmed The Black Crowes will be performing ‘Shake Your Money Maker’ in full plus all the hits.

Today (11th November), the band have announced a 46-date Shake Your Money Maker tour kicking off at the Austin360 Amphitheater in Texas and wrapping up at Los Angeles Forum on 19th September.

Additionally, they will play a reunion show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom tonight and at  the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Thursday (14th November). These are the band’s first shows since 2013.

Chris Robinson says: “I’m thrilled and blessed to be playing with my brother celebrating the music we’ve made and bringing our lives together full circle. Long live rock n’ roll and The Black Crowes!”

Rich Robinson adds: “First and foremost, I’m really happy to have my brother back in my life. To be able to play music again together and celebrate the first record we made as kids is a gift. To have these songs stand up after 30 years is something I could’ve never fathomed.”

The Robinson brothers will be joined by guitarist Isiah Mitchell (Earthless), bassist Tim LeFebvre (David Bowie’s “Blackstar”), keyboardist Joel Robinow and drummer Ojha.

The Black Crowes’ last UK appearance was at Hard Rock Calling in June 2013.
