Robert Plant has announced the release of Digging Deep With Robert Plant, an eight-disc singles box set. Its launch coincides with the second series of the Digging Deep With Robert Plant podcast, which premieres today.
The limited edition 7’’ box set includes remastered versions of 16 singles from 30 years of Plant’s solo career. The collection also features restored artwork from the original 7’’ releases, and comes packaged in a bespoke hardback book. The set is released on December 13, but is available to pre-order now.
When the podcast first launched, the former Led Zeppelin singer said, “Everybody has a back catalogue, and you do tend, as artists, to only deal in the very front end of it. But then, now and again, down the line, opening up some of the songs, and looking back at them, I marvel at some of it, and how nuts some of it is.
“For this podcast, I am going to be picking out some songs from here and there along the way mixing constant shifts in sound and intention from across this long old time.”
He added: “Since 1981 I’ve enjoyed many amazing, exciting musicians. Men and women who have encouraged and enlightened, introducing me to crazy curves I could never have imagined.”

LED ZEPPELIN Houses Of The Holy (1980s German issue of the 1973 8-track vinyl LP on the green & orange Atlantic label, glossy gatefold picture sleeve with textured thick card lyric inner. The labels and inner both have the catalogue number printed as 'ATL 50 014', whilst the sleeve has nothing printed. The sleeve displays only a little light general ageing, with some edge/spinewear, whilst the inner shows little signs of age with some light foxing but no splits or rips. Music' credit above the 'Produced by Jimmy Page' print, fully laminated gatefold die-cut picture sleeve with rotating picture wheel. The sleeve is strictly graded Very Good, with some minor discolouring & the odd laminate crease. The vinyl remains a decent VG with a few faint surface marks/hairlines. Aside from the odd moment of light surface noise in the quietest sections the overall sound quality is still outstanding. A very respectable play copy at an advantageous price)
