For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker’s stage invasion during Michael Jackson’s performance at the Brit Awards.
While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.

THE VERVE Urban Hymns (Rare 1997 UK limited edition 13-track double vinyl LP, including the classic singles Bitter Sweet Symphony, Sonnet, The Drugs Don’t Work and Lucky Man. Both discs appear barely played nestled in individual picture innersinside the matt picture sleeve complete with the printed card ‘mailer’ sleeve. Aside from a split along the top edge of the sleeve the inners and vinyl are all in Excellent condition – priced advantgeously HUTLPX45)
VAN MORRISON The Best Of Van Morrison (Scarce 1990 UK 16-track vinyl compilation LP including Bright Side Of The Road, Gloria, Moondance and Brown Eyed Girl. The glossy picture sleeve has a little shelfwear visible and comes with the illustrated lyric inner while the vinyl appears in EX condition).
SMASHING PUMPKINS Pisces Iscariot (1994 US limited edition 14-track Gold Vinyl LP compilation, consisting of B-sides & outtakes which together made for another great Pumpkins record, including Soothe, Frail, a great cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide, along with the psychedelic-tinged Girl Named Sandoz recorded for a BBC Session originally by The Animals, picture sleeve featuring a different variant to the other formats release along with the lyric inner. This example remains in the hype stickered open shrink therefore shows minimal wear, whilst the vinyl shows only light evidence of play, overall a really nice example CAROL1767-1).
