It was seen as ‘America’s classical music’, and has transitioned from the early brass era, through swing and cool jazz, to modal greats and jazz-rock fusion. The spirit of jazz can be heard today in almost every form of music hip hop to metal and will continue to do so until the end of time.

MODERN JAZZ QUARTET The Best Of MJQ (Fantastic 1968 Japanese 10-track stereo double vinyl LP compilation pressed by Nippon Grammophon on the blue & green Atlantic label in a unique silk laminated textured gatefold picture sleeve with integralJapanese/photo booklet, complete with rare original pink & black obi-strip. The sleeve & obi displays minimal wear and the vinyl looks barely played SMT-9002(1~2)).

CHET BAKER Portrait In Jazz By William Claxton (2018 UK limited edition 305-track 18-CD box set – this definitve compilation is divided into twelve deluxe digipak volumes. Each volume presents carefully selected top Chet Baker recordings from his classic years, and features splendid photographs of the trumpeter by the great Wlliiam Claxton. Housed in a 5½” x 5½” x 6″ picture box – still sealed in its hype stickered shrinkwrap).

RETURN TO FOREVER Live – The Complete Concert (1978 Japanese 14-track FOUR LP vinyl set recorded live at The Palladium in New York City in May 1977 with the expanded RTF lineup featuring the vocals of Gayle Moran & a full brass section. Comeshoused in a 12″ silver lettered textured box with Japanese insert, 12-page photo/lyric booklet & picture obi-strip. The packaging shows very little age wear & the vinyl appears Near Mint 72AP1160~3).
