Ozzy Osbourne lands role as Thrash in animated movie Trolls World Tour

From Planet Rock.

Ozzy Osbourne will voice a character called Thrash in the upcoming animated children’s movie Trolls World Tour.

A sequel to the hit 2016 Dreamworks musical comedy Trolls, Ozzy’s character Thrash is the father of hard-rock royalty Queen Barb, voiced by actress and comedian Rachel Bloom.

Due to hit cinemas in April 2020, in the movie Thrash and Queen Barb are on a quest to destroy all other genres of music in rival Trolls worlds – funk, country, techno, classical and pop – to let rock music reign supreme.

Deadpool actor Karan Soni plays another character called Riff, who also resides in the rock world.

Ozzy shared a photo of his character’s hand throwing the sign of the horns on his social channels last night along with the hashtags “#THRASH #TrollsWorldTour #TimeToRock”

The Trolls World Tour movie also comes complete with decidedly Metallica-esque font on the official posters.

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake return as Poppy and Branch in the film, which is directed by Walt Dohrn, who served as co-director on Trolls, and is produced by Gina Shay.

The plot synopsis for the film reads: “Queen Poppy and Branch make a surprising discovery – there are other Troll worlds beyond their own, and their distinct differences create big clashes between these various tribes.

“When a mysterious threat puts all of the Trolls across the land in danger, Poppy, Branch, and their band of friends must embark on an epic quest to create harmony among the feuding Trolls to unite them against certain doom.”

Zooey Deschanel (Bridget), James Corden (Biggie), Gwen Stefani (DJ Suki), Jamie Dornan (Chaz), Kelly Clarkson (Delta Dawn), Sam Rockwell (Hickory), George Clinton (King Quincy) and Mary J Blige (Queen Essence) also star in the movie as characters in the various musical worlds.

Ozzy Osbourne tours the UK in late January and early February 2020 with very special guests Judas Priest.
