Queen’s Roger Taylor unveils lyric video for new solo song

From Planet Rock.

The politically charged track is a cutting commentary on the state of the planet and features lines like “There’s blood on the streets / Panic in the air / The markets are trading up / In madness and fear.”

Also offering a message of hope, elsewhere Roger sings: “I wanna fly on the wings of love / I want the clean fresh air in my face / I wanna tear down every border and wall / I wanna take part in the human race.”

Of course, this isn’t Roger Taylor’s first foray into the world of politically themed songs.

The opening track of Roger’s 1994 album ‘Happiness?’, the fascism bashing ‘Nazis 1994’, proved to be his biggest solo hit charting at no.22 on the Official Singles Chart.

Roger also re-released his 1994 anti-Rupert Murdoch song, ‘Dear Mr Murdoch’, in 2011 following the phone-hacking scandal.

“Everybody’s got an opinion and I was just lucky enough to have an outlet for mine,” Roger later told The Independent. “I prefer to stay out of politics, really. I don’t live in a fluffy, badger-saving world.”

Queen will once again join forces with vocalist Adam Lambert for an epic 25-date North American trek this summer called the Rhapsody Tour.
