Rare Prog & Pysch Vinyl LPs In Now: Tea & Symphony, Big Sleep, Jumble Lane…

TEA & SYMPHONY – An Asylum For The Musically Insane – Rare 1969 UK 9-track LP of ‘Progressive Folk’ by the talented trio, with ‘Gramophone Co’ label perimeter text & without EMI logo, wonderful front laminated gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve on this copy shows just a little shelfwear along the top edge and two tiny areas of paper loss along the spine [these are barely visible], otherwise the laminate is crisp and the colours bright and vivid. The vinyl is stunning and looks barely played, there are some faint, whispy hairlines if held under strong light but nothing that affects play, there is no spindle wear or any other unsightly marks/scuffs to the disc and it easily grades Excellent – A wonderful copy of this very hard to find album SHVL761

BIG SLEEP Bluebell Wood – Rare 1971 first issue UK 8-track vinyl LP on the short-lived Pegasus label, the only album by the Welsh five-piece who managed to split up before this debut was released; some wonderful guitar work combined with warm organs and period production give a great example of early Psych-Prog which leaves one wondering what other wonders would have been produced had the band continued for another album, gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve shows just a little edgewear with a small area of print fade to the front and a nice & clean interior leave it graded as Excellent; the vinyl is Near Mint. A fantastic copy PEG4

JUMBLE LANE Jumble Lane – Monster Rare British Psych 1971 UK 12-track LP privately pressed for Holyground, with just 99 copies made for tax avoidance reasons. This very rare album was created by students & friends of Bretton Hall college. This example once belonged to an ex-girlfriend of band member, Nick Dew [Nick later joined Bill Nelson to form the first incarnation of Be-Bop Deluxe]. Jumble Lane is an intriguing & heady mix containing folk & jazz elements with progressive ideas of the time, with varied acid folk & rock elements & a very British approach. No official picture sleeves were produced for the album, but this copy comes housed in a unique, home-made picture sleeve that the band put together, with a pasted black & white image on the front & pasted tracklist/publishing detail on the back. As a nice touch, the original die-cut inner sleeve is included & is signed & dedicated by Nick to his former flame. The vinyl surface is clean both sides & grades VG+/EX- & there are some light paper hairline scuffs & minor spindle marks resulting in just a little faint surface background in the quieter sections & great sound overall. Now a prize item & virtually impossible to find… HG115
