Rare and collectable Converge items just arrived

Converge have been a driving force in aggressive music for nearly 30 years. Starting their career in 1990 among the fertile Boston hardcore scene, their sound was very much of the time. However, as the years would progress, so would Converge as they incorporated elements from outside of hardcore punk into their art to create something truly unique. By the time 2001 rolled around, Converge unveiled their magnum opus, Jane Doe. An album beloved by fans of hardcore, noise, metal, punk, and just about every form of passionate and aggressive music, it has become one of the most iconic albums of the ’00s.

Following the release of Jane Doe they would become a four-piece, retaining the classic line up of Jacob Bannon, Kurt Ballou, Nate Newton and Ben Koller.  Together would take Converge from strength to strength, and are still a driving force today, never compromising their sound and looking at new ways to shatter the glass ceiling that often comes with underground music.

Whether you are a long time collector of Converge, or just looking to start you collection, we have recently picked up a few excellent items by this important band. Check out some of the highlights below.

Axe To Fall Silkscreen Print: Stunning 2009 39″x17″ silkscreen print of the art work from the 2009 Converge album, Axe To Fall, by vocalist Jacob Bannon. This differs to the colouring of the artwork on the album, with a red hue in place of blue that was used on the albums release. Only 250 copies of this wonderful print were manufactured, with each one being hand numbered and signed Jacob Bannon. This particular copy is number 16, with his signature in silver pen in the bottom right hand corner. Bannon’s artwork has transcended the hardcore scene from which Converge were born, and he produces some of the most unique pieces in underground art. This copy has been looked after and stored carefully, remaining in near ‘as new’ condition. Ideal for framing, and a no doubt the first and only time we will see this piece.

Jane Doe: Rare 2010 US 12-track double vinyl LP, with gatefold picture sleeve and 28-page 12″x12″ booklet, pressed on transparent gold vinyl and limited to just 440 copies. Originally released in 2001 via Epitaph, Jane Doe quickly became a groundbreaking, iconic masterpiece for Converge. The band shattered convention and moved on from their Boston hardcore roots and incorporating elements of noise, metal, crust punk and just about any other form of aggressive music to create their magnum opus. Includes the tracks Concubine, Fault and Fracture, Homewrecker and the stunning Heaven In Her Arms. Both the sleeve and vinyl on this copy are in spectacular near ‘as new’ condition. This is essential for any fan of heavy music, that no collection is complete without

Petitioning The Empty Sky – 1st: Rare original 1998 US 9-track vinyl LP, with picture sleeve and tri-fold lyric insert limited to just 3100 copies on black vinyl. While considered a compilation by the band, Petitioning the Empty Sky is known as the second full length by Converge, taking the hardcore sound of Halo In a Haystack from 1994 and sowing the seeds of the controlled chaos they would be known for. Includes The Saddest Day, Forsaken, and Color Me Blood Red. Sleeve shows a little, unobtrusive edge wear and the vinyl only a few cosmetic surface scuffs from being taken in and out of the sleeve, yet it remains in superb condition. A classic, and often underrated hardcore gem
