Latest rare and collectable ’90s vinyl in stock, including Nick Cave, Ali Farka Toure, Frank Black and more

For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker’s stage invasion during Michael Jackson’s performance at the Brit Awards.

While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.

We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock, and be sure to keep an eye on our latest arrivals

Nick Cave – Let Love In: Rare 1994 UK 10-track vinyl LP, glossy picture sleeve with a glossy inner printed with lyrics, credits and photos. The sleeve shows just the lightest of wear wear whilst the vinyl has one small cosmetic scuff and otherwise looks barely played

Ali Farka Toure – Talking Timbuktu: Rare 1994 UK 10-track vinyl LP, glossy picture sleeve. Superb collaboration between the famed Mali singer/multi-instrumentalist and Ry Cooder, features an all-star cast including fusion bassist John Patitucci, session drummer Jim Keltner, guitarist Gatemouth Brown, and African percussionists/musicians Hamma Sankare and Oumar Touré. The sleeve shows only light wear and the vinyl has little to indicate play – the first copy we’ve ever had, too!

Frank Black – The Cult Of Ray: 1996 UK 13-track vinyl LP, his third solo album released after the initial breakup of The Pixies and produced by Frank himself, glossy picture sleeve with deletion drill hole and picture/lyric inner. The sleeve showsonly light wear, the vinyl looks barely played.
