Mondo to reissue Batman score on vinyl

Mondo have announced a lavish reissue of the score to Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman movie.

It comes ahead of the film’s 30th anniversary next year, which starred Michael Keaton as the beloved superhero opposite Jack Nicholson portraying the malevolent Joker. The score was composed by Danny Elfman, who has been a long time collaborator of Burton, while Prince provided original songs. The new vinyl release is only Elfman’s brooding score and will not feature any of Prince’s music, so unfortunately no Batdance.

The vinyl release comes in a limited deluxe edition on yellow and black swirl coloured vinyl as well as a standard purple and black split issue, and is due for release at the end of November. It is the first time the score has been made available on vinyl in 20 years.
