Bon Jovi announce three 2019 UK stadium shows

From Plant Rock.

Bon Jovi have announced three massive stadium shows for June 2019 as part of the European leg of the This House Is Not For Sale Tour.

Having already played dates in the USA, Canada, Brazil, Argentina and Chile this year, Bon Jovi will grace the UK next summer for dates at Liverpool Anfield Stadium, London Wembley Stadium and Coventry Ricoh Arena.

Tickets go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 9am on Friday 2nd November.

The opening date at Anfield on Wednesday 19th June will be Bon Jovi’s first gig in Liverpool since they played the Royal Court Theatre in 1986 on the Slippery When Wet tour.

Two days later on Friday 21st June they will return to London’s Wembley Stadium 19 years after they became the last band to play the old Wembley Stadium and 13 years since they almost became the first to play the new stadium – until overrunning building works thwarted their plans.

Bon Jovi will wrap up their three-date trek at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on Sunday 23rd June, where they performed sold out shows in 2006 and 2008.

Enthusing about the trio of gigs, Jon Bon Jovi says: “Those huge shows, tens of thousands of people all together as one, that’s what we do.

“And we’ve got a few things to put right by playing Wembley Stadium. We were so excited to be the first band to play that new Stadium, I would have helped build it myself to make it happen. So, we have a new history to write there. We’ve had some great nights at the Ricoh too.

“Throw in Anfield as a new venue – OK that’s just us showing off! We’re honoured to play there and the first thing I’m doing is getting that iconic picture under the ‘This Is Anfield’ sign.”

Bon Jovi will be joined at all three dates by very special guests Manic Street Preachers.

Alongside the titular frontman, the band now features Bon Jovi originals David Bryan and Tico Torres, plus long time bassist Hugh McDonald, co-producer and co-songwriter John Shanks, multi-instrumentalist Everett Bradley and lead guitarist Phil X, who joined in 2013.

“We’ve become a new, rejuvenated Bon Jovi,” says Jon, “A refreshed line up that kills every night. We sound better than ever and we’re enjoying every minute. We are out there as a band, feeding off each other and the fans, having the time of our lives all over again.”

The previous dates on the This House Is Not For Sale Tour have seen Bon Jovi delve into a choice of around 95 songs that they can change up every night.

Classics that have made the setlist include ‘You Give Love A Bad Name’, ‘It’s My Life’, ‘Wanted Dead Or Alive’, ‘Bad Medicine’, ‘Who Says You Can’t Go Home’, ‘Keep the Faith’, ‘Always’, ‘Have A Nice Day’ and of course, ‘Livin’ On A Prayer.’

The European tour also features dates in Russia, Estonia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Belgium, Austria and Romania.
