Marianne Faithfull has recruited Nick Cave to help her channel William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream for their new duet, The Gypsy Faerie Queen.
Faithfull sings from the perspective of A Midsummer Nights Dream character, Puck, with Nick Cave providing sparse pianos lines. It builds to a steady shuffling track, as the unique vocal styles of Faithfull and Cave collide for the chorus.
It is taken from Faithfull’s upcoming album, Negative Capability, out November 2nd via BMG.
