Jaco Pastorius – The 60th Anniversary Collection: 2011 Japanese promotional sample issue of the limited edition 6-CD box set, issued to radio stations and reviewers ahead of the actual release. Featuring the remastered five original albums ‘Word ofMouth’, ‘Twins I’, ‘Twins II’, ‘Invitation’ and ‘The Birthday Concert’ plus the bonus disc with unreleased tracks compiled by Peter Erskine. Also comes with a one-eighth scale miniature Jaco Pastorius model bass guitar which is manufacturedand authenticated by Fender USA plus a 72-page booklet with liner notes by Peter Erskine with unreleased photos and more, each album comes in a mini replica LP style gatefold card picture sleeve all housed in a 5½” x 5½” x 2½” promo stickered box £134.99
John Coltrane – Golden Album: Limited Edition 1967 Japanese-only 4-track stereo LP compilation, housed in a unique silk laminated gatefold sleeve with obi-strip. The cover shows very little of its age (a spot of mild foxing inside & a tiny 1cm split in the obi] & the vinyl is near mint. This collector’s edition comes complete with a one-sided promotional blue 7″ flexi-disc (P-91) with custom ‘Not For Sale’ label print. The flexi-disc contains an interview recorded on July 18, 1966 at Tokyo Prince Hotel for TBS Television Inc, & is housed in a unique flipback picture sleeve. Both the sleeve & flexi appear near mint £125
Michel Legrand – Legrand Jazz: Very Rare pre-release promotional sample for the 1958 US 11-track deep groove MONO LP, with custom red on white ‘six eye’ Columbia ‘Demonstration’ labels & machine stamped ‘1F/1D’ run-offs. The album features the greatest jazz compositions of the day arranged by Legrand, performed by thirty-one of America’s greatest jazzmen at the time of recording, including Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Donald Byrd, Teo Macero, Ben Webster & more. The pastedpicture sleeve appears near mint with just a spot of faint corner wear. The vinyl too is near mint with little evidence of play £125
