Dorothy Ashby – The Fantastic Jazz Harp Of Dorothy Ashby: One-off Test Pressing for the 1965 UK 10-track MONO LP – absolutely sublime meditations & beats with closely mic’ed string harp work from Dorothy to the fore, with backing from bassist Richard Davis, drummer Grady Tate, percussionist Willie Bobo, & a sporadic horn section – pure magic! Dorothy would later go one better in her career, belting out funky rare groove favourites like ‘Soul Vibrations’ & ‘The Moving Finger’. Thecustom studio labels have ‘Factory Sample’ printed at the top & are annotated with the artist, title, matrix & catalogue detail, complete with the front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The sleeve grades VG+ with just a little light corner creasing from ring wear & no writing or tears, & is a nice off white. The vinyl is Excellent with merely the lightest evidence of play. Who knows if any more of these were even made! £125

Rosemary Squires – Rosemary : 1960 UK 4-track 7″ mono EP with ‘Factory Sample’ stickered label, including I Lost My Sugar In Salt Lake City, Solitude, My One And Only & Compared to you, fully laminated flipback picture sleeve. From the personal collection of Rosemary herself, the sleeve shows minimal wear & the vinyl remains in excellent condition with few signs of play £125

Hank Mobley – Poppin’ Rare limited 1980 Japanese-only 5-track stereo vinyl LP, the first in King Records’ ‘World First Appearance’ series [later issued as GXK-8163], containing a previously unreleased session recording from 20/10/57 that was shelved by Blue Note, but sounded just as good as anything Alfred Lion put out at the time, starring Art Farmer, Pepper Adams, Sonny Clark, Paul Chambers & Philly Joe Jones. Unique picture sleeve complete with Japanese insert and obi-strip. The vinyl is immaculate – one of the rarest title in the series! £125
