New rare and collectable indie vinyl from Mark Lanegan, The Strokes, The Verve and more

When you think of rare and collectable vinyl, generally your mind goes to original ’60s Beatles albums, the blue text issue of Led Zeppelin’s debut, or the the hallowed ‘solid prism’ pressing of Dark Side of The Moon. Yet from the mid ’90s to the mid ’00s, when vinyl wasn’t perhaps as in vogue as it is now, albums were pressed on vinyl in such limited quantity that they have become collectors items in their own right.

A recent collection we picked up yielded several gems from that time, and beyond. It mainly covered indie and rock, with a few highlights from the worlds of hip hop and electro scattered throughout. Below are just a few of the highlights, and you can search for some of your favourite artists in our store to see what stock we have.

The Verve – Urban Hymns: Original 1997 UK 13-track double vinyl LP with band picture labels, including the hit singles Bitter Sweet Symphony, Sonnet, The Drugs Don’t Work & Lucky Man, housed in the single-pocket picture sleeve complete with picture inners. The sleeve has light shelfwear whilst the vinyl remains in fantastic barely played condition!

Mark Lanegan – Blues Funeral: 2012 UK issue 12-track double LP pressed on Dark Green Heavyweight Vinyl, with guest appearances from Alain Johannes, Jack Irons, Greg Dulli & Josh Homme and including the singles The Gravedigger’s Song and Harborview Hospital. Complete with an MP3 download code and individual lyric inners, both vinyl discs are in BRAND NEW condition housed in the gatefold picture sleeve which retains its title-stickered opened shrinkwrap.

The Strokes – Is This It: Reissue of the 2001 UK limited edition 11-track vinyl LP with the ‘A-1’ / ‘B-1 T-BOY’ matrices, including the singles Hard To Explain, Last Nite and Someday. The vinyl is in BRAND NEW condition housed in the matte picture sleeve which retains its opened shrinkwrap.
