Rare Prince items to be put to auction

Two auctions are due to take place in the coming months that will feature a number of rare, and personal items once belonging to Prince.

Shoes, ‘Love Symbol’ charms, handwritten lyrics, and gifts that the late singing gave to exes are among the items being put to auction by the RR Auction House based in Boston between February 8 -15. One of the most striking items is the handwritten lyrics to I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man, which contain different lyrics to the version that eventually appeared on the 1987 album, Sign O’ The Times. They are expected to fetch $10,000.

Then, on May 18, Julien’s Auction holds “Music Icons: Property From the Life and Career of Prince”, which will feature outfits, ‘Love Symbol’ adorned booties, a Schecter “White Cloud” electric guitar, and many more personal items from the purple one. Also included are items that belonged to Prince’s first wife, Mayte Garcia, including a letter the artist wrote in purple ink apologizing for Lisa Bonet not picking her to be in his video for Walk Don’t Walk in the early ’90s.
