For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker exposing himself to Michael Jackson at the Brit Awards.

While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.

We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock, and be sure to keep an eye on our latest arrivals.

Alice In Chains – Jar Of Flies / Sap: Rare 1994 US limited edition 12-track Columbia 3-sided double vinyl LP with an etching on the fourth side, housed in the gatefold picture sleeve with inners. This copy remains SEALED from new in the original custom hype-stickered shrinkwrap. A spectacular top-archive example in unrepeatable pristine condition!

Polygon Window – Surfing On Sine Waves: Very Rare 1992 UK limited edition 9-track double LP pressed on Clear Vinyl on Warp Records, the second release in the Artificial Intelligence series from Richard D James [aka Aphex Twin], including the dancefloor pounding Quoth single. This copy comes with the original five page press release and it has the low numbered sticker of 00025 on the front cover. The gatefold picture sleeve shows just a little edge scuffing and both discs look seldom played. This is the first copy of this version that we have seen!

Neil Young + Crazy Horse – Ragged Glory: Scarce 1990 German-pressed UK issue 10-track vinyl LP, housed in the glossy fish eye lens style picture sleeve complete with the illustrated album credits inner. The sleeve has a little shelfwear to the edges but remains in otherwise excellent condition with the vinyl looking barely played condition
