Grant Hart of Husker Du passes away at 56

Founding Husker Du member, Grant Hart, has sadly passed away at 56.

While there has been no official word from the band or Hart’s representatives, a number of sources are reporting that he has lost a battle with Cancer, and the Husker Du Facebook Page has simply posted an image of Hart without a caption.

Hart played a huge part in Husker Du’s highly influential melodic punk sound, releasing albums such as Flip Your Wig and Candy Apple Grey. He also had a successful solo career, releasing four studio albums, including 2013’s The Argument.

The sad news comes after it was announced there will be an extensive Husker Du box set released later this year.
