Metal probably has more subgenres than any other style of music, and even these end up spawning their own branches of the metal family tree. One of the most talked about, and often diluted into different styles is death metal. Born from bands such as Death, Incantation, Cynic, Atheist, Morbid Angel, Obituary, and countless other, death metal has continued to grow over the past thirty years.
We recently picked up a small collection of extreme metal records, which included some interesting rarities and variants that we haven’t seen before. Check out some of the highlights from the collection below.
Cannibal Corpse – A Skeletal Domain: Limited Edition 2014 German 12-track LP pressed on Atomic Nuclear Vinyl with a Green/Black bi-colour split, housed in a gatefold picture sleeve in custom stickered open shrink complete with a fold-out colour poster of the album’s artwork. Limited to 500 copies.
Sabbat – Evoke: Limited Edition 2006 US picture label 11-track LP pressed on Red & Black Splatter Vinyl, housed in a stickered & hand numbered picture sleeve with lyric insert & fold-out poster. Limited to 222 copies.
Master – Four More Years Of Terror: Limited Edition 2013 German 13-track LP pressed on Red Vinyl, from one of the earliest band’s in the world labeled Death Metal, complete with a bonus red vinyl 7″, label catalogue insert, illustrated lyric card sheet & picture sleeve in open shrink. Limited to 350 copies.
