On this day in 1977…

…. The Police recorded their first single, ‘Fall Out’ for £150 at Pathway Studios, London, England. This single was the only time the original line-up, which featured Henry Pavodani on guitar, released anything, the follow-up ‘So Lonely’ would be the first to include ‘new’ guitarist Andy Summers. Actually Andy was a seasoned muso, first appearing with Zoot Simm’s Big Roll Band (a bit of a drawer at top Mod club ‘The Flamingo’) and then onto psychedelia as a member of Dantalion’s Chariot whose ‘Madman Running Across the Fields’ is a highly collectable (and pretty darn good too) slice of British psychedelia…..hang on this is a different story!
