Kate Bush is to release a new live album, using recordings from her residency at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo in 2014.

Taking its name from the concert series, her new triple album Before the Dawn will be available as a 3-CD or 4-LP box set from November 25. The album is split into three “acts”, following the structure of her concerts: first, a seven-song run of her greatest hits, followed by a selection from her influential 1985 album Hounds of Love, concluding with a selection from her 2005 album Aerial. The third section also includes a new song, Tawny Moon, performed by the singer’s son Bertie McIntosh.

Tickets for Bush’s much-hyped 22-night residency at the Apollo sold out in just 15 minutes, leaving many fans still unable to get tickets. Reviewing the first of her Before the Dawn concerts, Telegraph critic Bernadette McNulty wrote that “her voice was an undiminished roar, surprisingly rich and powerful after such a long break.”

The shows marked Bush’s first return to live performance, 35 years after her only tour, in 1979. “Now all the shows are over, it’s pretty difficult to explain how I feel about it all,” the singer wrote on her website. As yet, no plans have been announced to release a DVD or video recording of the concerts.

The new album, which is credited to “The KT Fellowship”, rather than under Bush’s name, is the singer’s first release since her 2011 album 50 Words for Snow. It will be her second live album since 1994’s Live at the Hammersmith Odeon, a critically acclaimed box-set with used music and video-footage from her 1979 tour.
