It’s possible that last year’s 18CD box set featuring everything Bob Dylan recorded in 1965 and 1966 was just not quite enough of the thin wild mercury sound for you. Perhaps, in fact, you thought you could do with twice as much Dylan. If so, your prayers have been answered.

The latest massive emission from the Dylan vaults comes in the form of a 36CD box set, The 1966 Live Recordings, containing every known recording from his tours of the US, Europe and Australia. The recordings come from soundboards, CBS Records mobile recordings and audience tapes. Virtually all the material – barthe Manchester show released as Vol 4 of the Bootleg Series, and a few tracks that have appeared on other compilations – is unreleased, even by bootleggers, according to Sony, which is releasing the set.

The price, at least, isn’t as prohibitive as last year’s set – Amazon has it listed at £104.86. It is released on 11 November.

For those who like Bob Dylan, but not so much as to want 36 CDs of his live recordings from one year, Sony is also releasing a 2CD/2LP set, The Real Royal Albert Hall 1966 Concert. That album is released on 25 November.

Guardian music is predicting that next year, Dylan will release a 72CD set of all his conversations over cups of tea in 1967 and 1968.
