The Stone Roses are gearing up to release their third album, a new report has claimed.

The band’s follow-up to 1994’s ‘Second Coming’ will reportedly arrive this summer to coincide with their run of live dates, which includes four massive headline shows at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium.

According to The Mirror, a source said: “Ian Brown and the lads have been busy getting their next album ready. It will be album number three. It’s a long time coming but they feel the time is right now. They’ve been back in the studio. Everyone is very excited about it.”

However, a spokesperson for the band apparently declined to comment when asked by the newspaper. The Stone Roses’ bassist Mani said in 2013 that the band had been “working on a few bits” but there has been no official word on new music since then.

In addition to their Manchester headline shows, The Stone Roses have gigs lined up in Dublin, New York and Japan, as well as a headline slot at T In The Park.
