Here’s some of the best Record Shops to go on Record Store Day 2015

London

The epicentre of Record Store Day activity, there’s plenty to get your teeth into in the capital. Head to Berwick Street where there’ll be live music all day from the likes of noted breakfast enthusiast DJ Yoda as well as discounts and exclusives at Sister Ray, Phonica and Reckless Records. If you fancy getting something for nothing, the people behind The House Clearance House Party will be giving away vinyl for the low, low cost of £0.00 and you can also nip into the Record Shops of Soho pop up exhibition for free too.

Those on less of a budget should consider coughing up for L’Escargot’s special RSD brunch for which you can choose the soundtrack, or getting your own 7-inch pressed at Somerset House’s Secret 7” exhibition for £50 (although you’ll have to book in advance).

Both Rough Trade shops have live music on all day; check out Denai Moore at Rough Trade East or Palma Violets if you feel a bit more West London on the day. If Kanye-endorsed Grim is more your thing, head to Deal Real Legacy’s Newburgh Street pop up where Novelist and others will be doing sets curated by Kano. For after parties, go east to The Oval Space and party till 6am or stay central at The Social which has DJs on until 1am.

Liverpool

Arguably the best RSD offering of the year, Liverpool’s Dig Vinyl has Adam Ant – actual Adam Ant – doing a signing from 2pm as well as giving all RSD shoppers 10 per cent off all vinyl in the shop.

Manchester

There is all sorts going on at Piccadilly Records; not only can you catch buzz band Dutch Uncles and Tim Burgess (him out of The Charlatans) playing live, you can also enjoy a delicious coffee and cake from Burgess’s Tim Peaks diner, which will be serving snacks all day. For something a bit more practical, illustrator That Girl is running screen-printing workshops in-store where you can print and take home your own design.

Eastern Bloc Records is selling this year’s limited edition RSD x REGA turntable (13 of which have been signed by the likes of Chrissie Hynde and Liam Gallagher and you won’t know if you’ve got a signed one till you get it home and open it) as well as hosting a range of DJs and selling “specialist refreshments”, whatever that means.

Wales

Head down to Derrick’s in Swansea for a chance to win a RSD x REGA turntable and check out the day’s exclusive releases as well as more Rega products. Spillers and Kelly’s Records in Cardiff both have live performances in store, while Retro Vibe Music will be providing tea and other refreshments to queuers from 4am.

There’s a free RSD gig at the Riverside Theatre in Newport thrown by the good folk at Diverse Records. Goldie Lookin Chain will be pointing out your mother’s penis and spinning tunes between sets.

Edinburgh

The first 75 customers to make it to Coda will enjoy a delicious bacon sandwich on the house, plus a folk-heavy line-up of live music in the afternoon. Things are a bit heavier down at Elvis Shakespeare with a punk and psychobilly line-up to liven things up. If classical music is more your thing, McAlister Matheson is also getting involved with free cupcakes and a live set from cellist David Watkin.

Belfast

HEAD Records is running giveaways throughout the day, including a raffling off a limited RSD Rega turntable. Alongside that, the shop has five DJs playing in store and an after-party showcase at The Bar With No Name from 8.30pm.
