Defining albums from the Britpop ’90s

The Charlatans Tellin' Stories
The Charlatans Tellin' Stories

The 90’s were undeniably one of the hottest periods for British music. Guitar bands were on the rise  and from this Britpop was born, spawning many iconic moments in British music. Oasis battled it out with Blur in the press during one of the most talked about rivalries since Guns N Roses and… well.. everybody, regional bands became overnight icons, and of course who can forget the Jarvis Cocker and Michael Jackson incident at the Brit Awards ’96.

We recently picked up a collection that included some of the defining albums from the 90’s indie scene, and while many have been reissued at since, you can now own original pressings from the era.

We have an original copy of the groundbreaking (Whats The Story) Morning Glory? by Oasis which saw the Gallagher brothers cement their place in history, and proving that they were the last great rock and roll band of the 20th Century. Maybe you preferred Blur in the rivalry? If so, then we have a fantastic copy of Blur’s self titled album from 1997, where they moved away from the ‘Lad-rock’ of Parklife and The Great Escape and embrace a more lo-fi sound and changed with the times when many bands refused to do so. If the underdogs of the scene were more your thing then we also have rarely seen original copy of The Charlatans breakthrough album Tellin’ Stories, which was their first after the tragic loss of their keyboard player Rob Collins, and includes the anthemic One to Another and North Country Boy.
